King County Executive Shannon Braddock announced the winners of the 2025 Executive’s Small Business Awards, and the group includes several that are based in or have ties to the unincorporated areas.
Award recipients were announced this week during a celebration of the people and enterprises that power the region’s growth, create jobs, and reflect the diversity and creativity of King County. Finalists and winners represent industries from technology to farming, to accessibility and creative arts, showcasing the vital role of small businesses in every community.
Among the 24 businesses recognized, several are based in or are connected to unincorporated King County:
Rural Small Business of the Year
Winner: Lora Lee’s Family Farm (near Duvall)
Finalist: Aroma Coffee Co. (Fall City)
Minority-Owned Small Business of the Year
Finalist: Cole Cleaning Solutions (Skyway)
Creative Economy Small Business
Finalist: MLK Commissary Kitchens (Skyway office)
Exporting Small Business of the Year
Finalist: LILOTREE (near Redmond)
This year’s finalists were chosen from 107 applications across King County, with winners selected by a panel of local business leaders. Together, these businesses demonstrate excellence in community engagement, innovation, workforce development, and sustainable practices.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and the heart of our neighborhoods, reflecting the rich diversity of our region,” said Executive Braddock. “This year’s winners and finalists embody the spirit of entrepreneurship, equity, and sustainability that makes King County thrive.”
The Department of Local Services congratulates all of the businesses that were recognized.
