The Department of Local Services wants to hear from you to help shape the future of your community.
King County is developing a Subarea Plan that will help guide development and investment for the next 20 years in Fairwood. Our planners are working with community members to develop policies that will help the community achieve a shared vision. The goal is to make real, equitable improvements in quality of life for everyone who lives, works, and plays in this area.
The Fairwood Subarea Plan will cover such areas as:
- Land use and zoning
- Housing and human services
- Environment
- Parks, open space, and cultural resources
- Transportation
- Services and utilities
- Economic development
Community engagement is a vital part of developing the Fairwood Subarea Plan. Over the last couple of months, the Department of Local Services has worked with community members through conversations and at events such as the Fairwood Market Night and National Night Out.
Over the next couple of weeks, there will be several opportunities to participate and share your input:
