New home repair funding is available for homeowners and renters with low and moderate incomes in the unincorporated areas of Skyway/West Hill and the East Renton Plateau.

Through the King County Participatory Budgeting program, community members directed public funds to the King County Housing Repair Program for these unincorporated areas. The program can help with repairs such as:

  • Roof replacement
  • Septic system installation
  • Plumbing and electrical upgrades
  • Addressing emergency conditions
  • Health and safety repairs
  • Major building preservation issues in single-family, owner-occupied homes, as well as home access modifications for disabled renters.

Call the Housing Repair program (206-263-9095) to learn who is eligible and how to get services. The Participatory Budgeting program specifically funded $300,000 for Skyway/West Hill and $100,000 for the East Renton Plateau.

King County’s Participatory Budgeting program is centered on community participation and collaboration. Community members submit ideas for improvements, projects, programs, or services that would make a positive difference in their neighborhoods. Then they vote to choose which of these will be funded. Since the program began in 2021, participants have directed more than $23 million to community priorities.
