White Center’s main drag and nearby roads are getting a fresh new look.

Starting around mid-July, we’ll repave at night for up to three weeks. Then we’ll roll out safety upgrades on 16th Avenue SW to make crossings easier and help drivers pay more attention. The work is being done by King County Road Services, a division of the Department of Local Services.

Out with the old, in with the smooth

Crews will repave at night in three locations:

  • 16th Ave SW between SW 100th and SW 107th
  • White Center Cutoff SW
  • SW 100th St between 14th and 12th Ave SW

Paving will happen overnight, Monday through Friday, from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. If you live nearby, you may notice some noise, vibration, or smells from asphalt while the work is happening. Paving at night helps keep daytime traffic flowing and leaves more parking available during business hours.
