Road Services crews are in the final stages of replacing Ames Lake Bridge, located on Ames Lake-Carnation Road NE between West Snoqualmie Valley Road NE and NE 52nd Street.

For more than 100 years, the old creosote-soaked timber trestle bridge held strong. But over time, the elements took their toll. A full replacement was necessary to ensure a safer and more reliable crossing for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.

The bridge is set to reopen in April, but safety is forever

The road has been closed since last summer. We know it’s a big inconvenience to drive around, but the alternative can cost you your life. As we near closer to reopening the bridge to traffic in mid-to-late April 2025, we would like to emphasize the importance of safety.

We’ve received reports of people moving or squeezing through barricades attempting to walk or bike across the closed bridge by. Not only is this extremely dangerous, it put lives at risk and could also further delay the reopening. The bridge remains an active construction zone. We kindly ask for the community’s patience and cooperation as crews complete the remaining work. Thanks for understanding. We look forward to reopening the new Ames Lake Bridge soon.
