We love days like this!

This week, we joined the Maple Valley Creative Arts Council at the Maple Valley Historical Society to unveil a gorgeous community mural project: Maple Valley Reflections: Stories on the Walls.

The project, partially funded with $1,500 King County 2024 Alan M. Painter Grant, tells the history of greater Maple Valley, from the trains to the coal industry.

The ribbon-cutting brought out community members and the arts council.

Department of Local Services Director Leon Richardson shared some remarks.

(Pro tip from our Maple Valley Community Service Area Liaison Marissa Alegria: The building is in the Lake Wilderness Park, so she strongly recommends taking advantage of the walking trails if you go to visit)
