
King County Local Services is excited to welcome Mo Fisk, our new Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Manager!
Mo will be working with the Road Services and Permitting Divisions, as well as the Director’s Office, to support our equity, racial and social justice efforts in all spaces.
They come to Local Services from Downtown Emergency Service Center, a homeless service organization, where they served as Director of Administration and Planning and led organizational development efforts, including equity and inclusion. Overall, Mo brings 17 years of experience as a leader and agent of change in nonprofit and education organizations, whose missions ranged from addressing homelessness to community service to cross-cultural education.
Mo specializes in Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, employee development and organizational effectiveness. Through collaborative leadership and project management, they have worked to turn positive intentions into positive outcomes.
“I am honored and excited to support the King County’s Race and Social Justice plan and the Equity work of Local Services!” Mo says. “The department is here to serve all community members in King County, and we can do that best by centering the needs and perspectives of underserved and marginalized communities, making all our services and programs equitable, and creating a workplace where all employees belong and can thrive. My goal is to help us reach our True North values, making King County a welcoming community where every person can thrive.
Mo holds a Master of Arts degree in Education focused on adult experiential learning, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Peace Studies. Also, they are a Human Resources Certified Professional (SHRM CP). In their free time, Mo loves to be outside gardening, biking, hiking, and to spend quality time with family and friends.
